VELONA’S JUNGLE LUXURY GUESTHOUSE IN FLORENCE
An oasis of elegance and exoticism in the historic city center of Florence, within walking distance from the Leopolda train station and from the new opera house, a project that has given birth to a luxury guest house reinterpreting the spirit of the building, constructed in the early fifties, with eclecticism and irony.
A careful research of color, decoration and furniture has created a joyous interpretation of the interiors, curated by Francesca Bocchini Sgroi, from Studio Sgroi, and expert in interior design and antiques, with due respect to the location and tradition.
The apartment has been curated with the collaboration of the owner, Serena Velona, daughter of an historic family of Florentine antiquarians, with whom they have proposed and mixed old house furniture with new pieces from the fifties and sixties purchased around the various specialized markets and abroad.
Everything, revisited with attentive care and research of textiles and colors, proposes nature in its most scenographic expressions as the main theme, which is a concept also at the base of a management dedicated to the care of the well-being, with a naturalistic vision both in the use of strictly organic products and nutrition based on vegan and vegetarian dishes.
The fabrics used for the upholstery work, all with patterns of interior design, are selected from prestigious Italian and foreign companies, just like the bathrooms, proposed with a retro flavor, use products from England. The floors have been kept the originals of the time, just as the doors and the windows in respect of the tradition of the space and to maintain an old house charme, so not to alter the spirit of the space with invasive changes.
